This is what you get when you're dealing with people that put their Middle School on the line that says, 'Higher Education' when applying for a job.

I saw a gallup poll where 20% of conservatives view socialism favorable and 17% of republicans have a favorable view.

So maybe some of these people who are responding yes that they think the president is a socialist are doing it because they want it.

Well, several things, but let's address them one at a time. The first being over the 'issue' of whether or not he was born in the United States. Despite the fact they have his certificate of live birth, legally the same thing and the same thing turned in by John McCain, and that they dug up the Obama family birth announcement in a Hawaiian newspaper is the first thing. The issue is not a lack of evidence, and I fear it's his name; John Sidney McCain III turned in a certificate of live birth from the Panama Canal Zone, and everything was cool. Barrack Hussein Obama turns in a certificate of live birth, and a nativist movement crawls out of the woodwork.
As for being a socialist, I'm not sure they even understand just how far left one has to be in order to be called a socialist rightly (no irony intended). On some things, I can see claiming he leans farther left than many, but socialist? No. If he is a socialist, why is the private sector allowed to run healthcare? Why is the top tax rate one of the lowest in the past 60 years? Obama's is 41%; Eisenhower's was 90%. Bit of disparity between the two numbers, no?
Now as to why he should be impeached. When even considering impeachment, we have to remember just what it is we're doing; We are removing a freely elected leader from power. This is a method that should only be used when there is a mutual consensus, at least in some measure, and when the need is dire. Otherwise, we risk flaunting governmental power nonchalantly; unnecessarily using laws set by our founders for use in greatest need.
I fear the Republicans, in some areas, are leaning towards populism; what with the tea parties, the birthers, and all.
It's nice to live in Indiana; we're run quite well, with a governor that's actually quite moderate, and has made Indiana very profitable. Mitch has actually increased money for education by 12% since first elected. So much so, that this small state of 7 million has an 83 million dollar  cash-for-college fund; every year.
There are some Congressmen here I'd vote against before you could say "hard line partisans", but overall, Indiana is a model of how Republicans ought to be; less partisan and more open.

This accurately reflects the views of almost all of my Republican friends. It's pathetic.
