Still I am glad we are seeing progress.

Why not last late summer?

The question is certainly worthy of consideration.

My thoughts center around the President's deep rooted desire to change the way federal governance works. Prior to his election names of specific past presidents floated through out the media: Lincoln, Reagan, Roosevelt. These presidents were noted for either forging compromise, working for bi-partisanship, or serving with a high degree social conscienceless. The President expended every effort to fit someplace in the mix of the president listed above.

Well, he and his team miscalculated. I personally believe that the level and extent of 'backlash' to his election provided an awakening. How could the President and his team underestimate the extent of angst generated by his election? Let's face it, the election was a historical first and he is the first Democrat to win the office in eight (8) long years. Eight years in the United States is a life-time. Any realist should have antiicpated and planned for reaction and reality from the election.

Should it surprise anyone that the RIGHT would go 'wacky" (and they have done so to an unprecedented level)? NO! How could the administration overlook early comments such as "I hope he fails", "...This will be his Waterloo", ..."this will kill his administration"? We will not come to any common answers for the questions. I think we can agree that the efforts for bi-partisanship was noble, but ultimately fruitless.

One has to wonder, when the realization actually hit. When did the President and his closest advisors decide to try one more effort before moving on?

I made a comment a couple of weeks back that included a figurative statement of 'kick a lil ass'. The comment was related to just what we are seeing now.

Go ahead....do what you can to forge change in federal governance, Mr. President. But, recognize when efforts are being met by childlike responses that remind me of "...I want my way or I will not play".

My faith in the President's leadership was shaken for a period of time. My faith is being restored but the administration need a big win. (JUST FOR THE RECORD, I believe that the administration has enacted many positive changes since taking office).

In the recent past, the parties truly worked together to pass legislation which benefited everyone's constituents.

Unfortunately, the party of NO, the media, with it's corporately diverse owners, and the insurance and drug companies have combined to thwart every effort.
Corporations will lose million, billions if healthcare is passed. The republicans do not want our president to be able to say HE passed it.

What they tried was noble and good intentioned. It did not fail because of anything the administration did.. it was greed and selfishness which caused it to fail.

Those who threw us under the bus on both sides need to go.
True bipartisanship comes from selfless STATESMEN who are in the job to better society and to leave the world a better place.
They are in short supply but there are certainly more on the left than the right.
