I Think Republicans are Itching for a Hanging

You see it every day. They are gathering in angry mobs. They are perpetrating lies and half truths. They are using fear to scare people to take up pitch forks. They are painting Democrats as evil and making absurd claims about how Democrats are going to destroy 'Merica.

You see their histrionics every day. You see it exposed for the ugly thing it is. It is scary. We see a callous disregard for real Americans in real trouble. And they keep on pushing their agenda. They keep getting louder and uglier with every passing day.

Have you ever been in a situation that you put yourself into accidentally and just don't know a way out? It's uncomfortable as hell. You can get short of breath and itchy and sweaty.

I think that Republicans have painted themselves into a corner. I think they have been given enough rope to hang themselves. I think they find themselves on the gallows now and have no idea how they got there and no idea of how to get out of it.

I think they might just be feeling that uncomfortable itch at having arrived at a hanging and noticing they are the guest of honor.

If I could just see more evidence that people are not buying into their B/S, I would feel more comfortable about their 'hanging'.

I think it obvious that they want the nation to remain on the path set by the Bush Administration. So they resort to every form of treachery, manipulation and deceit.

I am just very uncomfortable in my belief that too many are buying into their B/S. Of course, I may be overlooking a quiet majority across the nation. I do not know.

CAN ANYONE ADVISE ME ON HOW to set up my viewing and pages such that I can actually use the quick hits pages? My 'add a quick hit' link is buried up into the verbiage at the top of the page thus rendering me unable to add a quick hit.

I suspect I need to make an adjustment to my browser tools but do not know yet where to start with the fix.

one of the problems is that my generation doesn't care so much right now. I know plenty that do but the majority doesn't seem to. We need to see more young people in the mix.

and I have to agree that it give Democrats an advantage going into the mid-term elections if the Reps run on repealing health care reform [assuming it even passes].

But, once again, I continue to go to RedState.com to see the reaction from the other side. And the people there are in a frenzy about their so called "Obamacare". They STILL see it as a Gov't takeover of the health care industry. They STILL are being fed lies daily from Beck, Hannity, Rush et. al.. This isn't just a fringe element. This is becoming the thought process of the entire right.

The sad thing is that if you ask these people "what will happen if premiums rise so high that companies start dropping coverage and the individual won't be able to afford it on their own?", then the response you get is "If Gov't would get out of health care, hence removing it's rules, regulations and restrictions, the industry would regulate itself and everything would become cheaper."

I'm sorry, but FOR-proft entities usually don't have the people's general welfare and best interests in mind. Short term profit goals have wrecked common sense.

Anyway, what do you do when a large voting bloc buys into and then doubles down on the lies and distortions?

I honestly do not know at this point. But I hope to hell someone has an answer for that, because we need one.

I really do think that though they are a large block, they are still considerably smaller than the more rational side. I think the last election shows a voting public that is tired of the noise from the Right and I don't think a year has made them forget this. At least I hope not.
