I am possibly the only person my age that would spend my days off school on left-wing blogs, reading the New York Time and watching CNN.

Just a thought ;)

Okay, so, I think that SNL might have a point here.
Although, I have to admit, I'm not sure that anyone else as president could've done better.
But aren't you a little disappointed? :(

Why are children so uninformed?

I can't quite understand it. To teenagers my age, reading the newspaper is...boring. Watching the news (even for twenty minutes while eating breakfast in the morning!)...it's boring. Politics? Oh, so unendingly boring. Being informed? Knowing what you're talking about? It's nerdy, apparently.

My parents have raised me to be interested in politics. To only say something when I know what I'm talking about. I argue with my peers day in and day out about politics. Thought I might share a little story with you all to show you just how uninformed they are.

Last year, around election times, my classmates and I were having an open conversation about politics. Being in a magnet program that you have to test into, I expected my classmates to be somewhat intelligent. Apparently not.

So here we are, sitting in class, ranting about Sarah Palin, when one kid perks up and says:

"Why should I care about politics?"

If you don't understand the many flaws in this right away, I have to say, you're an idiot. He then moved on to say:

"Why should I care what Bush did in the past two terms? Why should I care who's elected this year? It doesn't effect me."

Again, please understand what I'm dealing with. I was four when Bush was elected into office (For those mathematicians out there...how old does that make me now?). I was too young to understand anything but when I was getting fed. But Bush being in office for eight years in my childhood has pretty much screwed my generation over.

My generation gets to live with the debt future generations got us into. My generation is ultimately the one most effected by politics now.

Lets see. How do politics NOT effect you?! A president that has been declared the worst president in the history of this country was elected when I was four. He was out of office when I was thirteen. And yet, because he was in office, I'm going to have to help build our economy again. And I wasn't the one stupid enough to elect him for two consecutive terms.

Explain to me, please. Why are children so uninformed? To be blunt...Why are kids so stupid?
