Mental Midget of the Week! Vote NOW!!!

by: lamb12

July 24, 2010 3:02 PM

With our Fearless Leader's answer of "Go For It!", I am hijacking an old favorite contest among many of us,"Assclown of the Week", giving it a new name and a slightly different concept.

Introducing "Mental Midget of the Week"! MMW for short. Each Saturday, I'll post a few names for your consideration. Pick one you like, or hate, the most and cast your vote. Write in candidates are welcomed and encouraged.

So pay attention to all the small minded, bat shit crazy, fabricatin', mainstream media bashing, question dodging, vocabulary challenged, fear mongering, tea bagging, WTF punditry of the Republican Party, in all its current factions.

Hey, there may even be a Democrat thrown in for good measure. How's that for "Fair and Balanced"?

Votes and write-ins will be accepted until Midnight Wednesday EST. The winner will be posted on Fridays at 6pm EST, before the start of FREEday.

Anytime there is a tie, they both win!

Winners are Inducted into The Mental Midget Brigade . By the time the mid-terms are here we will have quite a special army assembled.

America, We need to talk

by: lamb12

July 21, 2010 12:13 PM

Please pull up a chair and sit. Theres something we really need to talk about. We should have done this years ago.

The honest truth is,until we do, this country will continue to be a nation divided.

It's time for an honest discussion about race.
It's time to talk about why we continue to perpetuate the hatreds of our forebearers.

It's time to talk about ingrained prejudices, misleading stereotypes, and why we can't seem to move past them and accept each other for what's inside, not the package we are wrapped in.

SHOW ME THE CUTS! What? NO Answer? "NO" Is The Answer?

by: lamb12

July 19, 2010 9:49 PM

It should come as no suprise that the Republicans have no answers. They claim to be fiscally responsible. They claim to be small government. They claim that when they are back in power, they are going to cut spending. Continue the tax cuts to the wealthiest folks, repeal everything that has been and possibly could be passed. Oh, and my favorite claim of all balance the budget!!

I know by now we have all heard that our dear insane friend Glenn Beck is opening an online college. I wonder if one of the classes will be on how to Escape from a strait jacket 101. Then theres Texas. What do some of Texas' fine citizens say about Texas?? Don't mess with Texas! I wonder if that will carry through to their Mr. Secessionist loving Gov. Rick Perry?? He has decided not to apply for the 700 million Texas could get for Education. Wonder how they will get their revisionist books out to the country?? Oh, and if you work at Walmart, you can get college credits for the work you do there. I am not kidding! At first I thought it was a joke. My hubby came in from work this morning and was telling me all about it. Yes he works for them. Jobs are hard to find around here.Hate the game, not the player!! Here's a bit more about it....and when your looking at a law school, May I suggest Loyola??

Gay has a color?

by: lamb12

June 07, 2010 5:29 PM

As most all of you know, I can be a rabble rouser at times. I am ok with that moniker, because I know it's true. I admit that freely.
So it should come as no suprise, that I got into a bit of trouble at a local restaurant here in town.
I'd like to  share it  with you all, for two reasons. the first being would any of you had said anything to the other person, and two, did you even know that being gay has a color?

You'll understand , the second question more as I go along.

ConservarepubliBAGGERS...what are you truly willing to give up??

by: lamb12

April 25, 2010 5:04 PM

What are the baggers really about? I have many family and a few friends, who claim to be teabaggers, and ,I have to ask what are you guys for?? Let's see there is the Taking away our Freedoms' Branch, the You raised our taxes branch, The end Social programs branch, the He's is not from here branch, and the list really does indeed get longer and more incredulous as you go. I will use a friend of mine as an example: Late 50's, she has been on federal disability for 7-8 years, collects SS every month, and receives Medicare. Her husband, is a retired Military, and makes full use of the VA. They do not believe in entitlement programs, say that even though they were part of the 95%, that received a tax cut, they are sure that is not really true. They are not convinced that Obama, is a real U.S. citizen. And, just yesterday, she told me she thinks Sue Lowdens plan, you know the "Chickens for Checkups", lady, is a great idea. Oh and did I mention, they are not crazy about Black people. Yet, they rent to black families and Individuals, all the time. I could keep going, but, I'm sure you get the picture. So, when I was watching Bill Maher the other night,he,pointed out the truth of the bagger platform. I have to say,he is correct on this. And she has no intention of "giving up" her Medicare or SS. Go figure!!!

You Pay, I pay, We all pay......Taxes!!!!

by: lamb12

April 15, 2010 11:52 PM

Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

No matter who you are, no matter your income, most everyone in this country pays taxes. The problem this countyry is having is that no one really wants to pay tazes, even though there are many benefits to society, when people pay taxes. Taxes pay for our military, The VA hospitals and clinics, The Medicare, so many seniors love, and will fight you tooth and nail, if you tried to take it from them, the Social Security, many of these protesters, are probably getting. Roads, highways, cops, fireman, the national parks, where you can now bring guns, the libraries, that Glenn Beck loves so much. So you see, the taxes that everybody pays, contribute and benefit everybody. You may not like them, who really does, but, the benefits outweigh all the complaining.

The heart of the tax matter....

by: lamb12

April 14, 2010 2:29 AM

Yesterday a fellow member of ours Bugspray posted a diary titled, Now that Freedom Friday is over..., It's worth the read, and I suggest you take a look at it if you haven't already. It started quite a debate between several folks on here,in particular Faultguy. I will not delve into the specifics, except to say, that basically the question was raised as to why people who do not pay income tax, are benefiting the most from those folks who do. That was pretty much the gist of it. I would like to know why some think those who are low income, are not as worthy as those who do, even though they do contribute to society by, paying state and local taxes, paying for goods and services in their communities, just as much as the folks who do pay more Income tax?? And, why are these same people who decry the limited contribution or lack of contribution in Income taxes, not up in arms about the billions of tax dollars, many major Corporations, DO NOT PAY to the U.S. every year?? Why is that ok,but, a head of household making 30k is a big loser and is deserving of nothing but scorn?? Yes this is from the daily show, but, I think it is a very valid question to raise.
